Mazda wanted to deviate from its customary car lineup so it has envisioned a performance car that is psyched to finally perfect the driving feel and experience. Mazda 3 is considered a big hit in the automotive industry. Nonetheless, it lacks speed and performance so Tatsuo Maeda, chief engineer of the automaker targeted said improvements and attached them to the recent member of Mazda clan.
2007 Mazdaspeed 3 boasts the advantage of 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbo unit, same as that of Mazdaspeed 6, which is capable of generating 64 horsepower, equivalent to 264 horses at 5500 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 3000 rpm.
Said performance translates to a 0-to-60 time and a top speed of 149 mph.
Mazda tapped on power. The latter comes on from 2500 rpm and stays sizzling all through the 6750-rpm redline. The linear torque response is analogous to that of a bold V-6 than a turbo four. The slick six-speed manual transmission parts, on the other hand, are user-friendly.
Mazda engineers reinforced the driveshafts and built-in a specially tuned torque-sensing limited-slip differential to lessen wheelspin and torque steer. The chassis of Mazdaspeed 3 was also modified.
Extra reinforcement was made around the floor, center tunnel and across the strut towers. The car was also given higher spring rates and thicker anti-roll bars. High-quality Bridgestone RE050A tires were also incorporated to complement the performance. Further, brakes and calipers were also made similar to Volvo S60.
Mazdaspeed 3 gets slight upgrades in its bumpers, rear roof spoiler and grille to achieve a sportier look.
The interior gets a two-tone trim, red stitching, aluminum pedals and leather steering wheel and gear-shifter. Said interior is inspired by European design and feel.
The latest contribution of Mazda to the automotive world was honed in Germany. Its suspension and chassis was reinforced to boost the car's attributes. Moreover, the ride quality is superb that it can serve as a serious competition to GTI.
Mazdaspeed 3 is priced at $23,000 and it will be available this coming fall.

Steps to Buying a Used Car With Confidence
(ARA) - Industry statistics show that almost three times as many people buy used cars as buy new. To help consumers make informed decisions in the process, the experts at CarMax, America's leading used car retailer, have put together a basic list of the things to check when buying a used car. 1. Check the vehicle's safety features. Consider a vehicle with air bags and anti-lock brakes.
Not only will they make a car safer, but insurance companies sometimes give discounts on their rates for cars with these features. 2. Inspect the mileage. Mileage is a good indicator of the vehicle's age, and the average consumer will drive from 12,000 miles to 15,000 miles each year. A late model used car may be more cost-effective and come with many features you may not be able to afford in a new car.
3. Check the mechanical condition of the vehicle. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, have a mechanic you trust check it for you. Fluids, lights, belts, power steering, the charging...

Discount Truck Tires
Truck Tires have to operate amongst the most strenuous of all environments, when one looks at the automobile sector. Since purchase of regular tires can be a costly affair, truck owners often opt for a cheaper alternative.
There are many necessary details which have to be kept in mind when one goes in for purchasing Discount Tires for Trucks. These tires must ensure smooth operability while catering to different loads across roads, and provide traction irrespective of weather.
Tires for trucks come in a range of sizes and are designed to perform well in a wide range of temperatures.
Different techniques are followed before and after manufacture to ensure longevity of traction. The tire pressure is a very important parameter, and tire pressure should be kept at ideal levels in all the tires within a vehicle. If there is low air pressure in one tire, it puts undue strain on another, and thus the wear-and-tear rate is enhanced.

Boat Owners Caught in The Wake of High Gas Prices
(ContentDesk) May 15, 2006 -- Boat owners say high gas prices wont keep them off the water this summer, but will have them easing off the throttle more often, according to a new survey by Nationwide Mutual Insurance.Like all motorists, boat enthusiasts are caught in the wake of high fuel prices especially those who pay a premium to gas up at marinas. However, boat owners indicate they are willing to pay to play saying gas prices would have to nearly double before they change their lifestyle. When talking with our customers about boating we learned that while theyre concerned about rising fuel prices, the passion they have for their boats override those concerns, said Greg Blanchard, Nationwides vice president of Specialty Products. What they say is that theyll look to cut costs elsewhere.Nationwides survey, conducted by The Brandware Group, Inc., of 2,544 power boat, bass boat, motorcycle and ATV owners shows that two-thirds of boat owners indicated high fuel prices would...
